Training for the race?
If this is your first time riding 100-miles, you may be wondering how to train for this event. We found this training schedule particularly helpful for new riders who are taking on the Cache Gran Fondo 100-mile challenge.
Can’t make the ride? Registration Transfer and Deferment:
We are happy to help you transfer your registration to a different rider, or defer your ride until 2025 - and if you must have a refund, charge a small $10 transfer fee.
Will there be a photographer on the course?
We will hire several photographers to document the 2024 ride, as we have for the 2013-2023 rides All photos from the ride will be provided for you free of charge. It's one way we want to thank you for your support and for riding with us.
Where do the proceeds of the event go?
The Cache Gran Fondo was originally established as an event to fund special cancer screenings for uninsured women in the area. 8 years ago, the event was assumed by Headspin events, a for-profit event company. Headspin Events (HSpin Events Llc), is committed to growing and improving the event, and since 2013, proceeds of the event have been re-invested to grow and support the event. Each year we match rider donations to other great local charities & events like Common Ground, The Family Place, Cache Valley Mountain Bike team, Huntsman Heroes, and high school sports teams and others.

How many riders do you expect on the ride this year?
We expect between 1400-1600 riders to participate in the Cache Gran Fondo this year. As in the past, in order to spread out that many riders, we have 4 different courses with different start times on Saturday morning.
Is there a lottery to get into the ride?
There is currently no lottery system to get into the ride. We will be accepting all registrations we receive between now and ride day.
What is available at the aid stations?
Aid stations will be stocked with large jugs of plain water, Hammer Heed and Pepsi products as well as quick-grab snacks. in 2023 we are again able to provide fresh baked goods this year like donut holes, bagels and muffins. Also our 2023 Endurance Nutrition partner is Hammer Nutrition and they are supplying us with plenty of Heed, Fizz Electrolytes, and many different Hammer Gel flavor options. There will also be granola bars, pre-wrapped candy, and other food at all stations.
Who do I contact for lost/found items?
We will have a lost/found booth at the finish line where items can be claimed, or contact the race director at oldhamtroy@gmail.com. Items that aren't claimed by 5 p.m. on July 13th, 2023 will be donated to Deseret Industries the following week.
How late will the expo be open?
The Gran Feed is scheduled to go until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8th. Some vendors like Great Harvest will accept meal cards until 5pm the same day.
How late will the course be open? Will I be kicked off?
The finish line expo is scheduled to go until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8th. We never kick riders off the course and will stay until the last riders finish. We have incredible support from the Bridgerland Amateur Radio Group (BRAG) and they don’t like to leave anyone behind.
How rote maps be provided?
The route maps are located on the website in the COURSES section, and we will also have posers at packet pick-up and the start/finish so you can download them, take photos, or link to your GPS.
Will bike support be provided on Course?
The course will have two roving mechanics and bike mechanics are in the support stations. The BRAG radio teams also carry cycling/tire repair kits and can help provide basic maintenance ad well.
Will timing chips be provided for all riders?
We are providing timing chips for the 76-mile racers only. They pay an incremental price to cover their race tags/chips.
Is the race this year still a qualifier for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships?
We are no longer a qualifying event for the UCI Worlds, however we continue to be a qualifier for the USACycling Gran Fondo National Championship ad we are a partner event to the Suarez National Gran Fondo (and as a partner event are also a qualifier for the National Championships.)
